With over 30 years of experience in the Ag Industry, Mark
has spent most of his life working in and around cattle and farming. He was
born in Elkhart, Indiana and graduated high school in the Shenandoah Valley in
Virginia. After graduation, he moved and worked for R+J Ranch in Briggs, Texas,
the top Registered Angus herd of the 1980’s. Here he assisted in pioneering
embryo work, showed National Champion Angus Bulls and Females and where record
setting annual sales began. It was at this location that Mark met and married
his wife of 31 years, Leah, a native of Lampasas, Texas. They were blessed with
two daughters, Lauren and Arin. By 1990,
Mark had his first opportunity to fully manage an Angus Herd at 3 Bar D Ranch
in Newberry, Florida. Here he was met with the necessary adaptation of a new
environment and geography for Angus genetics to excel and benefit not only for
the local customer, but for the national customers as well. In 1992, an
opportunity was presented to move back to the mid-west and become a Registered
Herd Manager for a start-up Angus operation in Iberia, Missouri. This new and
upcoming operation was Circle A Ranch. Initially, his duties were to oversee
the Registered Herd and to promote the brand by showing cattle on both the
local and national levels. By the fall of 1993, he was promoted to General
Manager and hosted their First Production Sale that November. It was a success.
For 25 years, Mark’s role was to oversee the day-to-day operations, the
development of all acquired properties and the genetic advances for the
expansion and innovation of Circle A Ranches. By 2000, he had helped develop 4
ranch locations from southwest Missouri to southern Iowa with approximately
34,000 acres in total. Most recently, Mark has devoted his time to selling real
estate and helping cattle producers locally while developing their family’s own
ranch, Diamond A Ranch, LLC in Montevallo, Missouri. Mark has successfully
closed on small and large tracts alike, specialized in cattle ranches, row crop
farms, and hunting properties.
